Skanska has secured a $72m (SEK620m) contract from the City of Stockholm’s Development Office to perform structural work for Slussen’s new bus terminal in the Swedish capital.
The contract will be included by the firm in Sweden’s order bookings for Q1 2021.
The structural work to be undertaken by Skanska encompasses concrete as well as construction work for the finished bus terminal.
Construction will begin on 1 June 2021 and is expected to be completed on 31 August 2023.
Skanska already has four contracts to carry out at Slussen that include the lock and associated drainage channels, low bridges, the Slussen bridge, docks and reinforcement work, plus work associated with the marketplace, which is also being built simultaneously.

By GlobalDataSkanska had also signed a contract this month with Montgomery County in the city of Clarksville, Tennessee, the US to construct a multi-purpose event center (MPEC) for the Austin Peay State University. The contract, which is worth about $73m (SEK610m), will be part of the US order bookings to be included in Q1 2021.
The Swedish construction group is also active in Denmark in the commercial development stream.
In 2020, Skanska had a workforce of around 14,800 in its Nordic operations alone and showed sales revenue of about $7.7m (SEK66bn).
