Willmott Dixon has secured a £7.8m contract to remodel and expand the Dorset County Hospital’s emergency department in the UK.
The contract will see the creation of a new entrance, and expansion of the emergency department wards into the existing courtyard area.
Moreover, the building is planned to be designed to the BREEAM ‘Very Good’ specification.
Willmott said that the new Dorchester hospital’s emergency department, procured using the SCAPE framework, will allow Dorset Country Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to accommodate the increasing number of patients.
The contract marks the second on the Dorchester site for Dorset Country Hospital.
Willmott secured first contract at the site from property developer Prime to build a seven-storey car park. The 654 space car park facility is intended for patients, visitors and staff.
