Veidekke has secured a contract from Zurhaar to construct an office building at Nesttun in the Bergen municipality of Norway.

SpareBank 1 SR-Bank will occupy the building, which will be certified as per the BREEAM-NOR Excellent environmental standard.

This design and build contract is worth nearly Nkr100m.

Spread over approximately 2,200m² across four floors, the building will feature a basement with an energy plant that will benefit neighbouring properties.

Construction at the site is expected to commence this year, with the office scheduled to be ready for occupation in 2025.

Veidekke Bygg Bergen district manager Thor Småbrekke said: “We greatly appreciate the confidence shown in us to build the new office building for Zurhaar AS and Rune Birkeland.

“This is a project on which we have cooperated closely and well with all parties involved since last autumn.

“We will have a lot of own production on the project, so there are a lot of people in Veidekke who are looking forward to starting the construction work after the holidays.”

One of the largest contractors in Scandinavia, Veidekke undertakes the construction of buildings, roads, and civil engineering projects.

This latest development comes after the company and the Bergen municipality entered into a contract to upgrade the Espeland water purification facility.
