UK-based construction company Stanhope and London housing association Network Homes have received planning permission from Ealing Council to construct their £200m joint venture housing scheme at Merrick Place, Southall.
Designed by Cartwright Pickard, the project will feature 575 homes, 2,100m² of office space and 318m² of commercial floorspace within four separate buildings measuring between 15 and 23 storeys with a two-storey podium.
It is located next to Southall railway station in the Southall Housing Zone. Claimed to be car-free, it will provide 926 cycle parking spaces and two servicing bays on Merrick Road.
The project will feature communal gardens and public realm space on the Merrick Road frontage while landscaping, play and amenity space areas will be created within the site.
Approximately 35% of all residential units will be affordable, with a tenure split comprising 30% London Affordable Rent and 70% Shared Ownership.
Cartwright director James Pickard said: “The project is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate the full potential of offsite manufacturing methods to speed up the delivery and improve the quality of new homes for London. Stanhope and Network Homes are forward-thinking organisations that are pushing the boundaries in terms of innovation and design quality, and demonstrating how homes in London will be delivered in the future.”
