Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and Skanska have signed an additional contract for an ongoing hospital expansion project in Portland, US.
This contract amendment valued at Skr2.1bn ($210.16m) is scheduled to be included in the US order bookings for the fourth quarter of 2023.
Works under the additional contract include activities related to the interior build-out of the upcoming expansion. It comprises framing and sheathing, installation, and completion of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
The hospital expansion will see the construction of a new 14-storey building, covering about 50,000m2 of area, carried out within a collaborative project delivery model.
The building will add 128 patient beds, with space for more beds that can be added later.
The new tower is expected to feature three levels of parking and six levels of patient floors, which will include bone marrow transplant unit and surgical oncology.
