Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded two contracts, worth $766m in total, for the design and construction of projects under the Cross Island Line Phase 1 (CRL1).

Hock Lian Seng Infrastructure has secured $320m contract to design and construct Aviation Park station and tunnels.

The firm plans to start construction of the Aviation Park station in the first quarter of 2022. The passenger service is scheduled to commence in 2030.

The Aviation Park underground station will be located next to Changi Coast Road and Aviation Park Road.

Hock Lian Seng Infrastructure will undertake work in compliance with regulations including aviation height restrictions due to the project’s proximity to the Changi Airport compound.

The second contract worth $446m has been awarded to Nishimatsu Construction for the design and construction of Bored Tunnel between Tampines North and Defu stations.

The firm plans to start construction on the bored tunnel in December 2021.

Nishimatsu will also be responsible for the construction of a building with underground basements to cater to the electrical and mechanical requirements of CRL1.

It will serve residential and industrial areas in Loyang, Tampines, Ang Mo Kio, Pasir Ris, Defu, Hougang, and Serangoon North.
