Global Business Power’s (GBP) subsidiary PH Renewables (PHRI) has commenced construction on a 115MW solar power project in the Philippines.
The solar plant will be located in a 135ha site in the Philippine Communications Satellite Corporation’s (PHILCOMSAT) grounds in Rizal.
Slated to commence operations in 2022, the project marks GBP’s entry into the renewable energy market.
The company stated that its entry into the renewables space is in line with One Meralco Group’s long-term sustainability agenda that covers both development and sourcing of renewable power projects.
GBP plans to use the power generated by the solar project to serve the three major islands across the Philippines.
