Paris-Sud University in France and the Platon Saclay project company have signed a €283m contract for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the future Biology – Pharmacy – Chemistry (BPC) Centre.
To be built on the Plateau de Saclay, the 85,000m² complex is said to be a major scientific project for Paris-Sud University and the future Paris-Saclay University.
The BPC Centre is expected to be delivered in April 2022, following a year of development studies and 36 months of works, and will be installed on the 74,000m² Métro site and the 14,000m² IDEEV site.
Bouygues Entreprises France-Europe CEO Pascal Minault said: “This partnership contract testifies to the confidence we have been shown by Paris-Sud University.
“Working alongside recognised partners, starting with the architects BTuA and Bernard Tschumi, Baumschlager Eberle Architects, and Groupe-6, we have devised a project that is sober, functional and elegant, which aims to make the BPC Centre a centre of excellence in teaching and research.”
Under the terms of the public-private partnership contract, lead company Bouygues Bâtiment Grand Ouest, Bouygues Bâtiment Nord-Est, Bouygues Bâtiment Centre Sud-Ouest, Bouygues Energies & Services and a group of 11 engineering companies will design and build the centre.
