The interior designing unit of UK-based Willmott Dixon, Willmott Dixon Interiors, has won a £20m fit-out contract for the new Design Museum building in London.
The museum is being relocated to the Grade II-listed, former Commonwealth Institute building on Kensington High Street from its previous location at Shad Thames.

The new development will have three times more space than the current building.
Built in Kensington’s cultural quarter, it will also sit in the vicinity of the Royal College of Art, V&A, Science Museum, Natural History Museum, and the Serpentine Gallery.
Under the contract, Willmott Dixon will turn John Pawson’s interior vision for the museum into a reality.
The scope of work includes provision of new galleries with enough space for one permanent and two temporary exhibition areas, along with modern learning spaces, a library, an auditorium, office areas and a new restaurant.
