The University of Washington (UW) in the US has unveiled the architectural renderings for the redesign of the former Spokane Visitors Center in the heart of Spokane’s University District.
The facility, which will soon be the UW Spokane Center, will provide space for meetings and special events, and serve as a hub for Spokane-area alumni, students, prospective students, parents and supporters.

Spokane architectural firm Blue Room Architecture & Design has been retained by the university to lead the remodel of the space.
Expected to open in May, the centre will contain flexible event space for gatherings of up to 30 people, as well as working space for up to six UW staff members.
Spokane Mayor David Condon said: "Spokane and the University of Washington have enjoyed a strong and productive relationship for many years.
"This investment in the growing University District is a strong reminder of the quality of the higher education options available right here in Spokane."
UW External Affairs vice-president Randy Hodgins said: "We are extremely excited to have a new gathering space in Spokane for people to further engage with the University of Washington.
"With the UW Spokane Center, we will be strengthening our presence with a dedicated space in the heart of the city where students, potential students, alumni and community supporters can gather for receptions, special events, or to just learn more about the University of Washington."
Spokane City Council approved the terms of the UW lease for the property in December 2014.
Under the terms, UW will make monthly payments of $5,206.25 in the first year, $5,312.50 in the second year and $5,418.75 in the third.
