The University of Cambridge in the UK has selected construction firm Farrans to develop Storey’s Field Centre, a community hall on its North West Cambridge Development.
Expected to cost £10m, the hall will be at the heart of the local centre project, overlooking Storey’s Field, the new open green space in the middle of the site.

The North West Cambridge Development is a £1bn project planned for the university-owned land between Huntingdon Road, Madingley Road and the M11, reports Cambridge News.
The planned centre will serve both existing and new communities in Cambridge, and feature three multipurpose rooms with the capacity for up to 250 people.
While the main hall will be used to host chamber music concerts, film clubs and dance classes for up to 180 people, two smaller rooms have been planned to host community events. The centre will also allocate space for a nursery within the same building.
The community centre has been designed by McInnes Usher McKnight Architects (MUMA) to achieve a BREAAM Excellent standard.
Works for the centre have been scheduled to start in September, and are expected to finish in late 2016.
Farrans managing director John Wilson said: "We have been based in Cambridgeshire for over 67 years, and our selection as the contractor for this exciting project is a key milestone in our history."
