Indian establishment Studio Mumbai has been selected to design the third annual MPavilion 2016, an architecture commission and design event, in Melbourne, Australia.
The announcement follows the closure of MPavilion 2015 on 7 February, which hosted 419 free events over four months within the temporary architecture pavilion designed by a British studio AL_A, ArchitectureDesign reported.

MPavilion 2016 will be the Naomi Milgrom Foundation’s third annual commission for the Queen Victoria Gardens site.
This temporary event hub will be available for free to public starting from 5 October 2016 until 5 February 2017.
Studio Mumbai founder and architect Bijoy Jain will reveal the design of MPavilion 2016 later this year.
Naomi Milgrom Foundation chair Naomi Milgrom said: "Bijoy Jain is one of the world’s most fascinating architects. Studio Mumbai’s work inspires us all to reconsider the way we design and continues MPavilion’s interest in collaboration and global connectedness."
MPavilion is backed by the city of Melbourne and the Victorian state government.
Bijoy Jain said: "I’m honoured to be commissioned by the Naomi Milgrom Foundation to design the next MPavilion. I want it to be a symbol of the elemental nature of communal structures. Like Naomi, I see MPavilion as a place of engagement: a space to discover the essentials of the world, and of oneself."
Since its inception, Studio Mumbai designed various projects including Copper House II, Palmyra House, Ahmedabad House and Saat Rasta.
