Swedish construction and development giant Skanska has won a new contract to develop a commercial building in Norway, and sold an office building in the Czech Republic.

The contract, which is worth NOK390m ($45m), has been signed with Christiansholm Eiendom for construction and renovation of the commercial development Kvartal 32 at Kristiansand in Norway.

The building will have a gross area of about 29,000m², which will be spread over five floors and two underground floors.

The commercial project will offer spaces suitable for office, retail, hotels and restaurants.

Skanska Norway is expected to start construction for the project shortly and finish by early 2018.

In a separate deal, the firm has sold Corso Court, an office building in Prague, Czech Republic for around Skr520m (€55m).

The building has been acquired by global investment firm Invesco Real Estate through a separate account mandate, which the firm manages.

Skanska Commercial Development Europe expects to conclude the transfer of the property by the end of the final quarter this year.

Commissioning of the office construction, which offers a total leasable area of around 17,200m², was done in July this year.

The office project is 100% leased at present and is expected to receive LEED Platinum certification.
