Shelburne Museum has unveiled plans to build a $14m art and education centre in Shelburne, Vermont, US, to expand the museum’s educational programmes.
Boston-based firm Ann Beha Architects has been selected to design the new building.

The 16,000ft² centre will include galleries, an auditorium and classroom space, and will accommodate a year-round calendar of events for youth and adult audiences.
The new centre will include 5,000ft² of gallery space that will be used for temporary exhibitions, a 130-seat auditorium allowing the museum to offer lectures, presentations and symposia, and a 2,000ft² classroom designed to be used for different activities and group sizes.
Construction on the project is expected to start in 2012 and the centre will be operational by 2013.
