UK-based start-up company The Photon Project is to launch its new intelligent all-glass living unit Photon Space.
The unit has a skin claimed to be made of smart glass supported by curving glass beams and a structure with a 45m² footprint, offering complete views of the surrounding environment.

Photon Space is inspired by the major positive benefits that natural light can have on peoples’ energy levels, sleep patterns and overall health, and its goal is to create a dwelling that allows for the maximum connection between occupants and the outside world.
The glass is used as a coating to partially block infrared rays and totally block UV, and cuts the suite’s solar gain to prevent increased exposure to the sun. In addition, it will be darkened during the day enabling suite users to match daylight hours to their body clock.
The Photon Project managing director Charlie Sharman told ArchDaily: "After five years of research and technological advances in the glass systems we work with, we are very excited to be able to manufacture this revolutionary suite.

By allowing natural daylight into the space to balance essential body rhythms the architectural structure addresses issues pertaining to stress, low energy, jet-lag and broader health problems.
