Conwy County Borough Council in North Wales, UK, has picked Muse Developments through a competitive bidding process for new office constructions in Colwyn Bay.
The scheme will deliver new office spaces in the Welsh town and reconstruct an existing Grade II Listed civic building to its east.
Initial development phase for the project is expected to cost around £36m, and will involve construction of a new four-storey 95,000ft² office building.
The proposed development is expected to have a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating and could replace up to 13 existing offices, thus bringing down accommodation and carbon footprint for the council.
The project is in line with Conwy County Borough Council’s wider strategy aimed at regeneration of the Colwyn Bay town centre.
Public consultation for the new project has been scheduled to take place early next year, following which planning application for the scheme will be submitted before the council, Muse said.
