Australian private health care provider Healthscope has been selected to design, construct, run and maintain the new A$1bn($833m) Northern Beaches Hospital in Sydney.
The latest selection comes in the wake of tender submission by Ramsay Healthcare and Healthscope in May this year.

To be built on a 6.5ha area, the New South Wales (NSW) Government-approved project will consist of a nine-storey, 488-bed hospital with 1,400 car parking spaces and a helipad.
NSW Premier Mike Baird said: "The people of the Northern Beaches have been waiting decades for this hospital to get off the ground and today the NSW Government is delivering."
The hospital will feature 14 operating theatres and six surgical suites, modern intensive care and critical care units, latest inpatient mental health facility and a 50-person emergency department.
Construction is set for early next year with the opening scheduled by 2018.
Healthscope will also be responsible for delivering clinical and support services to public patients over the next 20 years under a deal with the NSW Government’s Northern Sydney Local Health District.
Health Minister Jillian Skinner said: "There will be 1,300 staff employed at the new hospital, 400 more than the total currently employed at Manly Hospital and Mona Vale Hospital.
"As part of the contract, Healthscope will be required to meet stringent Australian quality and safety healthcare standards."
