Egypt is planning to construct a 200m-high pyramid skyscraper at Sheikh Zayed City in Cairo.
Developed in partnership with Egypt’s New Urban Communities Authority (Nuca), Zayed Crystal Spark will have 49-storeys and sit on a 798,000m² area, offering government, commercial and entertainment space.

Zayed Crystal Spark will become the tallest tower in the country, Daily News Egypt reported. It will also be higher than the 138m Great Pyramid.
The skyscraper will have two pyramids, one tall and slim and the other broad and short, and be surrounded by water features and greenery.
Egypt Minister of Housing Moustafa Madbouly said: "The project consists of administrative and commercial areas and a central amusement park, in addition to the mixed-purpose Icon Tower.
"The height allowed for a number of floors of administrative and commercial buildings ranging from eight to ten floors, and up to three floors for the entertainment use, while an increase is allowed for the Icon Tower to 49 floors."
The main role of the investor is to develop, design, market, sell, implement and finance the project, according to Madbouly.
The name of the architect involved and the project cost have not been disclosed.
