Salford City Council has approved construction plans for nearly 2,000 new houses in the city within Greater Manchester, UK.
The city authority has consented to seven residential developments in order to meet the growing demand for homes.

Salford City Council Strategic Planning assistant mayor Derek Antrobus said: "New homes and new jobs are great news for us and it also widens the city’s tax base, which softens the impact of government grant cuts."
Salford Mayor Ian Stewart said: "Salford is booming.
"This is a fantastic level of growth and will provide much needed new homes, new jobs, new businesses and opportunities for local residents."
The council has granted planning permission for nearly 3,000 houses and almost 11,000 apartments up to March, which will be followed by 700 houses and more than 3,100 apartments.

By GlobalDataRecent approval covers a £200m development that would include four 26-storey buildings at Salford Quays, which will have 1,100 apartments.
The development, to be called X1 Media City, will be located off Michigan Avenue and offer 1,573m² of commercial space for shops and community facilities.
The project is being developed by X1 Developments and Knight Knox International.
Approval has also been received for a 300-apartment student accommodation scheme, along with a new six-storey 145,000ft² office for BUPA.
Construction of the office development at a site termed ‘The Regent’ is expected to start in 2016.
An £1m regeneration scheme at the former Willows Rugby Club site also given permission, will offer 82 houses and 21 apartments car park spaces.
Bloor Homes gained consent for construction of 179 two to four-bedroom houses, which will include 36 affordable homes at Burgess Farm, Worsley.
A further major scheme by Redrow Homes has been approved and construction has already begun. Additionally, Bellway Homes scheme will deliver 140 new homes in Monton, and Rock Asset Management will create 80 new homes worth £7.5m at the former Vita site, Seaford Road.
