Dallas-based architectural firm Corgan has been selected by Toyota as lead architect for its new North American headquarters in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex in Plano, Texas, US.

Corgan is currently designing the temporary office space that will be occupied by Toyota in Plano until the construction of the permanent campus.

The new property, once completed, will house nearly 4,000 Toyota employees.

Corgan President and CEO Bob Morris said: "We are inspired by the challenge to create a facility that will bring Toyota team members and associates from across the US together in one building for the first time."

"We are looking forward to seeing the design elements of this campus that Corgan will deliver to provide a collaborative and innovative workspace."

The new campus will deliver significant cost savings for Toyota; consolidate areas such as human resources, IT, legal and accounting; and put the company closer to its North American manufacturing base.

Toyota administrative services corporate manager Doug Beebe said: "Corgan is a world-class firm that has designed many beautiful corporate campuses and other projects, both here in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and around the world.

"We are looking forward to seeing the design elements of this campus that Corgan will deliver to provide a collaborative and innovative workspace."

Toyota has already selected Dallas-based KDC Real Estate Development & Investments to serve as the lead developer for the project.

The company recently bought the land for the construction of the headquarters building, which will be ready for occupancy by the end of 2016 or early 2017.
