BMT Group subsidiary BMT Fluid Mechanics has been appointed as the wind engineering consultant for 'The Tower at Dubai Creek Harbour' by Aurecon.

Owned by Emaar Properties, the Tower at Dubai Creek Harbour has been designed by architect and engineer Santiago Calatrava, who also leads the engineering work.

Aurecon has been selected by Calatrava as the engineer/architect-of-record and to work on a range of design and technical features in the project.

A specialist in wind engineering, architectural aerodynamics and building physics, BMT Fluid Mechanics will offer its expertise to the $1bn construction project.

This super structure will be 100m taller than Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, another Emaar Properties tower that also holds the record for the world's tallest manmade structure.

The tall building’s striking design includes a net of steel cable stays that attach to a central reinforced concrete column.

There is an oval shaped bud at the top of the tower and it will hold several observation decks, including The Pinnacle Room, which can offer a 360° view of the city and beyond, as claimed by BMT.

BMT also says that the bud will also serve as a beacon of light during night times.
