The City of London has granted planning permission to Mitsubishi Estate London for developing a 40-storey office tower in the UK capital.
Designed by Wilkinson Eyre Architects, the Bishopsgate and Leadenhall Street Tower will be an office-led, mixed-use development with flexible retail space for shops and restaurants at the ground and mezzanine levels.
The tower will also house a public access viewing gallery on the topmost floor.
The proposed development will offer more than 750,000ft² of gross office area, and will be equipped with high-sustainability and low-energy features.
Under development at 6 – 8 Bishopsgate and 150 Leadenhall Street, the construction has been designed to achieve a BREEAM NC 2014 ‘Excellent’ rating.
Wilkinson Eyre Architects founder Chris Wilkinson said: "We are delighted to obtain planning permission to build on this important site in the City for Mitsubishi Estates.
