Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM), an architect firm, has been awarded the £77m project to redevelop the Old Royal London Hospital into a town hall.
AHMM will serve as the main consultant and designer for the redevelopment project.

In November, Tower Hamlets Council gave approval for the construction of new civic centre at the site of a former hospital in Whitechapel, which is a Grade II listed building.
AHMM will also undertake the refurbishment works of John Onslow House in Roman Road as a part of the project.
The civic centre development is part of the wider redevelopment of Whitechapel, which comprises the opening of Crossrail two years later, in addition to new public spaces and 3,500 homes around the civic centre over the next decade.
Tower Hamlets Council received more than 100 expressions of interests for the redevelopment project, which was then reduced to 23 before AHMM was selected.

"One of the most exciting aspects of the project will involve bringing the 18th century Royal London Hospital back to life as a public building open to the borough."
Tower Hamlets Council chief executive Will Tuckley said: "The civic centre will be instrumental in our vision for transforming services.
"The council is keen to introduce new and more efficient ways of working whilst, together with our partners, delivering excellent frontline services.
"Whitechapel as a whole is undergoing massive changes and the civic centre will be a key building contributing to the regeneration of the area and securing the future of a building of heritage importance for the borough."
AHMM agreed to provide a wide range of benefits to the community, which includes working with schools to mentor interested students in design and architecture.
The new building is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.
