Galliford Try’s Building Southern business unit has commenced work on the £30m Worthing Integrated Care Centre (WICC) in West Sussex, UK.

The new integrated health care facility will offer community and dentistry services, mental health, GP along with pharmacy and additional services for young children and families under one roof.

Work on the project will also include construction of a multi-storey car park.

The WICC will include an air source heat pump which will provide most of the heating for the facility.
It will also feature photovoltaic solar panels.

The health care facility will use a brownfield site and will be developed to achieve a BREEAM Excellent certification.

Galliford Try Building Southern managing director Gavin Bridge said: “All the team are inspired by providing high-quality public buildings that make a real difference to their local communities.

“This project is a fantastic example of that, bringing together much-needed services under one roof, in what will be a modern, vibrant facility.

“We look forward to working with all the stakeholders involved, including the local people and where possible offer employment opportunities during the construction phase, to help provide the very best services they deserve.”

In November last year, the company’s business unit was awarded a contract to build Marjorie McClure Special Needs and Disability School in the UK.

The new 100-place building was designed to be energy efficient, with windows and external shading designed to balance daylight and overheating.

It will be built for students aged between four and 19 with physical, medical, and learning difficulties.
