Construction firm Graham Group has started construction on Birmingham’s first smart-enabled building at Innovation Birmingham Campus in the UK.

The building, dubbed Enterprise Wharf, is situated beside Aston University and Birmingham City University.

The new 10-storey, 120,000ft2 building will include a large, open plan reception and collaboration space, cycle storage with kit drying room, electric vehicle charging space, showers and a roof garden.

The UK-based construction company has been selected as the main contractor while Avison Young, CBRE and Savills were appointed as agents for the project, which received planning permission in April last year.

It stated that the new development marks the expansion of the region’s digital and tech campus.

The tech campus already accommodates more than 150 businesses working in high growth areas including fintech, proptech, edtech, 5G and VR.
