Cheltenham Borough Council has announced its plans to construct 150 new energy performance certificate A-rated homes at North Place, UK.
In a Facebook post, the council said that the development project within the town centre will help to build a vibrant neighbourhood.
The plan is for the creation of a residential square with a centrally located community green space.
Real estate company Wavensmere Homes has been selected as the development partner for this 13,400m² brownfield site, which was initially bought as part of a joint venture by BBS Capital.
Meanwhile, Glancy Nicholls Architects has been commissioned to design the project.
Later this year, a proposal for a mix of one- and two-bedroom flats, three-bedroom townhouses, and pocket parks is expected to be submitted to the council’s planning committee.

Cheltenham Borough Council’s leader and councillor Rowena Hay said: “The proposed development at this central, brownfield site is important as it connects key areas of the town together.
“Good connectivity cuts down on travel times, increases opportunities and health and well-being, reduces isolation and is crucial for the economy.
“The development will of course have the environment in mind, ensuring the build is sensitive to its surroundings, has rich green spaces to encourage biodiversity and uses modern methods of construction and low-carbon materials.”
