Short-break holiday company Center Parcs has announced plans for its sixth UK holiday Village near Crawley, West Sussex.
For this development, the company has identified a 553-acres of woodland at Oldhouse Warren off Balcombe Road as a suitable site following an extensive search.
It has also secured an option agreement to acquire the privately-owned woodland for the new leisure destination, which is estimated to cost between £350m and £400m.
Now, Center Parcs will undertake site surveys and pre-planning works at the site to ensure the woodland meets the specific requirements of a Center Parcs village.
It will also conduct a community engagement programme to submit planning application to the local authority for the development of the new project.
The new holiday destination is expected to include a range of indoor and outdoor leisure facilities, a variety of restaurants and shops, lodges an Aqua Sana Spa and a Subtropical Swimming Paradise in line with the other Center Parcs villages.

“The proposal we will be submitting will create a significant number of jobs and bring major benefits to the local and national economy.
“The announcement marks the first step of a long journey and there is still a huge amount of work to be done before we can submit a planning application.
“As a business, we take our responsibility to the local community extremely seriously and look forward to sharing our plans as they progress.”
