Last month, construction firm Tutor Perini’s subsidiary Rudolph and Sletten started building a new $152m courthouse in Santa Rosa, California.

The new criminal courthouse is located on the Sonoma County Administration Center campus, north of downtown Santa Rosa.

It is for the Judicial Council of California and will provide a modern, secure facility with 15 courtrooms totalling 169,147 building gross square feet (BGSF).

The new six-storey building will create operational efficiencies and ongoing savings by consolidating court and mediation services.

It will provide centralised traffic, criminal, and juvenile dependency proceedings for the entire county.

The new courthouse will also include surface parking for about 450 cars along with 20 enclosed secure parking spaces.

Construction work on the project is anticipated to be completed in July 2023.
