Balfour Beatty Living Places has won a seven-year, £297m contract from East Sussex County Council in the UK to maintain highways assets and deliver infrastructure services.

The contract also comes with an option of extension by a further seven years, which would take its total value to £730m.

The firm will be responsible for the maintenance of roads, pavements, drainage, streetlights, traffic lights and bridges.

Besides winter gritting services, the company will also deliver highway enhancement schemes.

The contract is set to begin in Spring 2023.

The company will develop a new operational control hub in East Sussex.
