US-based company Caterpillar’s IT hiring declined 9.3% in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 5.89% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs claimed a 9.77% share in the company’s total hiring activity in July 2022, and recorded a 1.38% decline over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Caterpillar IT hiring in July 2022
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Caterpillar, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 42.52% in July 2022, and an 11.48% drop over June 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 25.2% in July 2022, and registered flat growth. Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 11.81% in July 2022, an 11.76% drop from June 2022.

North America emerged as the leading region in the global construction IT hiring activity in July 2022 with a 59.84% share, which marked a 1.3% drop over the previous month.
Asia-Pacific stood next with 33.07%, registering a 10.64% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 4.72% share and a 40% drop over June 2022.
In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 1.57% and a month-on-month decline of 50%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.79%, registering a 50% drop over the previous month.
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 58.27% share in July 2022, a 5.71% growth over June 2022. India featured next with a 22.83% share, down 12.12% over the previous month. China recorded a 5.51% share, a decline of 30% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level jobs lead Caterpillar IT hiring activity in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.06%, down by 3.85% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 29.92% share, a decline of 28.3% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.02% share, up 55.56% over June 2022.
