The top five companies accounted for 16% of patenting activity
Analysis of patenting activity by companies shows that State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council filed the most environmental sustainability patents within the construction industry in Q4 2023. The company filed 39 environmental sustainability-related patents in the quarter, compared with 349 in the previous quarter. It was followed by Samsung Heavy Industries with 28 environmental sustainability patent filings, Caterpillar (23 filings), and China Communications Construction Group (22 filings) in Q4 2023.
