Sino-Ocean Land and Swire Properties have launched their Chengdu joint-venture (JV) retail project, called Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu, in China.
Located in the Chengdu Jinjiang District, the project will be an open-plan, lane-driven mall covering an area of more than 100,000m².
The mall will feature a 100-room urban hotel, known as the Temple House, and 42 serviced apartments, both managed by Swire Hotels, as well as a 47-storey office tower called, Pinnacle One.
Swire Properties designed Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu to complement the traditional Sichuan style.
Upon completion, the 250,000m² complex will be directly connected to Chunxi Road metro station where Metro Lines 2 and 3 interchange.
The shopping streets of Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu will feature the GUCCI, Cartier, Hermès, Ralph Lauren, Chloé, Maria Luisa, Balmain and I.T brands.
Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu is expected to open in phases from 2014 onwards.
Swire Properties chief executive officer of China Guy Bradley said the project will become a new urban lifestyle hub in Chengdu.
“Visitors will find the exploration of over 300 retail and food and beverage brands around the lanes, courtyards and plazas a truly different and enjoyable experience when the complex opens next year,” Bradley said.
The development is the second JV project by Sino-Ocean Land and Swire Properties after INDIGO Beijing, which was opened in September 2012.
Swire Properties has a portfolio of more than 13.5 million ft² of projects in China, including five mixed-use developments in Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Shanghai.
