Mana Investments and Hunter Street Partners have received approval to develop a senior housing facility in Livermore, California in the US.

Construction on the senior housing project, which will form part of The Well at Sunset mixed-use project, is planned in the fourth quarter of 2022.

Featuring 128 studio, one and two bedroom living units, the new 130,000ft2 senior housing project will comprise independent and assisted living and a memory care wing.

Mana Investments partner Scott Murray said: “There is a significant need for higher quality senior living options around the region, and the City of Livermore is an underserved market.

“We’re thrilled the city continues to embrace our overall vision and we are excited to give prospective senior residents another housing option, while also supporting the new office and lifestyle tenants who will benefit from the adjacent senior housing community.”

Located at Holmes Street and Concannon Boulevard, The Well at Sunset scheme has been revived and rebranded over the past three years.

Built in 1978, the original complex has been vacant since 2013.

The first phase of the revitalisation project includes the construction of 49,000ft2 office and lifestyle space in six single-story buildings. It is scheduled to fully open by spring 2022.

The site will also feature amenities including an outdoor office area, walking trails, open space, among others.

The City of Livermore city council member Robert Carling said: “The Well at Sunset will provide a special atmosphere that is truly needed for our community including our senior residents.

“We are excited to see this part of town soon reenergized with new tenants and being a place for both locals and visitors to enjoy again.”
