Turner and TriHealth have announced the substantial completion of the first phase of the new five-storey Ambulatory Services Building at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, US.

This project is part of TriHealth’s ongoing $240m investment to modernise and expand the hospital’s capabilities for the region.

Based on a similar model on TriHealth’s Bethesda North campus, the Thomas Center, the 168,000ft² facility offers advanced medical services, including a new and expanded emergency department and an upgraded surgical institute.

According to Turner, the building also enhances the hospital’s diagnostic imaging capacity.

The larger project also involves improving access and wayfinding.

Turner project manager Rob Hudepohl said: “Reaching substantial completion on phase one of the project is a tremendous accomplishment for our entire team and trade partners.

“This complex project requires exceptional coordination and collaboration every step of the way. We are especially proud to reach this milestone with our valued partners, TriHealth and Good Samaritan Hospital, and to continue our work to deliver a facility that will support exceptional care for the Cincinnati community for generations to come.”

Project to transform Good Samaritan Hospital commenced in 2021, with ground-breaking held in October 2022.

TriHealth initially expected the full suite of development projects to complete this year.

Turner’s collaboration with TriHealth and Good Samaritan Hospital extends over 50 years, with major projects at the site dating back to the 1980s.

The construction company has supported the hospital through multiple expansions and refurbishments while it continued regular operations.
