POWERCHINA, an integrated construction group, has entered into an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract with Viroque Energy, an energy resources company, for the development of the Arreaz Photovoltaic (PV) Power Station Project in Spain.

Located in San Roque, Cádiz, in the Andalusia region, the solar PV power station will have an installed capacity of 44MW.

Once operational, it is expected to generate around 95,000MWh of clean electricity each year, contributing to the local energy structure and supporting the region's shift towards sustainable energy sources.

The scope of POWERCHINA's responsibilities includes the design, procurement, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of the project.

Viroque Energy, an entity engaged in the international trade of petroleum products, biofuels, natural gas, and liquefied natural gas, is expanding its portfolio to include renewable energy projects as part of its green energy transition strategy.

The company has a substantial footprint across Europe, America, and Africa and is now focusing on solar PV, wind, and energy storage projects.

Additionally, POWERCHINA has completed the construction of the Dry Flood Control Reservoir on the Bystrzyca Dusznicka River in Szalejów and Krosonowice, Poland.

This follows the company's involvement in the Wrocław Floodway System Project.

The reservoirs, situated in the canyon area of Kłodzko in the Wrocław province, play a crucial role in the region's flood prevention efforts.

POWERCHINA has incorporated environmentally friendly practices such as ecological embankments and wetland restoration to safeguard rare species and habitats within the Natura 2000 protected area.

Earlier this month, POWERCHINA also secured contracts for the Peninsula Kota Kinabalu Hotel and the Pan Borneo Highway WP 31 Bridge Project in Sabah, Malaysia.
