POWERCHINA receives construction contracts in Malaysia

In the region of Sabah, since 2014, the company has secured and implemented 20 projects.

Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA), an integrated construction group, has signed hotel and bridge contracts in Malaysia.

These include the Peninsula Kota Kinabalu Hotel and the Pan Borneo Highway WP 31 Bridge Project in Sabah.

The hotel project, situated in the commercial centre of Kota Kinabalu, is set to be developed into a 28-storey structure.

The hotel will rise to 119m, covering a total floor area of 52,400m².

It will comprise a concrete slab-column shear wall structure and is anticipated to be completed within 36 months.

Meanwhile, the Pan Borneo Highway WP 31 Bridge Project, a Malaysian government initiative, involves constructing four bridges over a 20km stretch.

The structure will incorporate pile foundations, bridge decks, and concrete structures.

The bridge project is expected to be finished within 24 months.

POWERCHINA offers services from investment and financing to design, construction, equipment manufacturing, and management for clean energy, water, environmental, and infrastructure projects. The company has a presence in more than 130 countries and regions.

In Sabah, since 2014, POWERCHINA has secured and implemented 20 projects, with a total contract value exceeding RM2.8bn ($649.98m). These projects cover various sectors, including hydropower, gas power, building construction, and land reclamation.

The company has also recently completed the construction of the General Prado School in Lima, Peru, featuring energy-saving designs and modern teaching systems.

The school, spanning 22,944m², can house 3,600 students. It comprises teaching facilities, labs, a library, a multipurpose hall, and a sports stadium, as well as administrative offices.
