US-based builder JPI has broken ground on the first phase of a new Class A development at Grand Prairie in Texas, US.

Named Jefferson Loyd Park, the new community will feature eight three-storey buildings with 450 multifamily homes.

The first phase of Jefferson Loyd Park is scheduled for its initial occupancy in January 2025.

Construction for phase two of the project, which will include 352 additional homes, is expected to start later this year.

The new project covers more than 25 acres and will offer community amenities such as a resort-style pool with cabanas, as well as a fitness centre that will provide virtual exercise classes.

Situated along State Highway 360 between Debbie Lane and Broad Street, the new community will offer its residents easy access to both Loyd Park and Joe Pool Lake.

Easy access will also be provided to several retail and dining options, including Starbucks, Super Target, Kroger, The Home Depot, and Chase Bank, all within a five-mile radius.

JPI regional development partner and senior vice-president Blake Taylor said: “Not only are we able to bring a substantial number of homes to a growing area, but in such a unique location.

“Jefferson Loyd Park will provide residents with a place to call home that is urban yet has easy access to Loyd Park and Joe Pool Lake. It's the best of both worlds.”

Several partners are involved in the project, including lender Happy State Bank, architect Demarest, and civil engineer Kimley Horn.
