Eiffage has secured contracts worth a combined €132m ($153.9m) for two hospital projects in France, via its subsidiaries Eiffage Énergie Systèmes and Eiffage Construction.
The bulk of the total, close to €109m, covers the first phase of the Convergences project at Angers University Hospital, where a new medical-technical platform is planned.
Eiffage Construction will handle the main structural works, the building envelope and finishing works under the macro-works package.
Eiffage Énergie Systèmes takes the ventilation and electrical packages, covering power and low-voltage systems.
The Angers building will span 38,400m² over five storeys and house emergency services, operating theatres, imaging and adult critical care units.
The design targets the E+C Level 3 label and HQE Excellent certification and includes bioclimatic architecture and on-site renewable energy generation.
Construction started last month, with completion expected for late 2029.
Separately, Eiffage Construction has been named lead contractor of the consortium appointed to design and build the new Avallon hospital centre. That contract is worth almost €31m in total, of which Eiffage's share is €23.5m.
The consortium also includes BSA Architecte, engineering companies Ingénieurs associés, Edeis, and Amstein + Walthert, and landscape designer Rocher Rouge.
Other parts of the group will contribute to the Avallon scheme, with Eiffage Route covering roads and utilities, Eiffage Énergie Systèmes providing low-voltage systems, and HVA Concept supplying sanitary modules.
The 9,676m² building is described as the first hospital in France to comply with RE2020 regulations, and will use low-carbon concrete, bio-based insulation and rooftop photovoltaic generation.
The project remains in design, with works due to begin at the end of the first quarter of 2027 and completion planned for late 2028.
Eiffage said it offers public and private clients a turnkey approach, from studies and diagnostics through to commissioning and infrastructure maintenance.
The awards follow contracts announced earlier in the week for two waste-to-energy plants in Limoges and Grenoble, worth €393m in total, with an Eiffage share of close to €162m.
In Limoges, a consortium led by Veolia subsidiary Soval, with Eiffage Génie Civil and architects HOBO, holds a €148m design-build contract.
The facility is expected to treat 95,000tpa of waste, with commissioning in 2029.
Last month, Eiffage Construction secured the design and construction contract for the forthcoming Oise energy syndicate headquarters in Beauvais, France.
