Last week, YIT and Senate Properties signed a contract for the reconstruction and expansion of the Kuopio Courthouse.

Senate Properties manages the government properties of Finland.

The project began in July 2022 and is anticipated to complete in early 2024.

It will be implemented as a project management contract.

The construction cost is estimated at approximately €13m.

The Kuopio Courthouse project includes revamp of 1929-built property that is historically as well as scenically important and has a protected exterior.

This building was last used a tax office, and prior to that, it was used as a fire and police station.

Following the renovation, the building will meet modern indoor air and soundproofing requirements.
