Willmott Dixon has received a £38m contract from Winchester City Council to construct a sport and leisure centre at Bar End in Winchester, Hampshire.
The new project, which is currently subject to receive planning permission, will replace the River Park Leisure Centre.

The new facility will comprise a 50m swimming pool, a separate teaching pool with a movable floor, an eight-court sports hall, four squash courts, 200 gym stations, two large studios, and one spin studio.
It will also feature a hydrotherapy suite and eight treatment rooms.
Winchester sport and leisure park health and wellbeing and cabinet member Lisa Griffiths said: “This announcement shows real progress is being made to deliver the new sport and leisure centre.
“In practical terms, it means Willmott Dixon and the architects can now shape the design and share their considerable experience of delivering these types of facilities.

Willmott Dixon is currently working with architects Stride Treglown and will commence the construction of the project in the second quarter of 2019 with completion planned for early 2021.
