Watson-Marlow set to start construction on new US manufacturing plant

Engineering company Watson-Marlow is set to start construction on a new manufacturing facility in Devens, Massachusetts in the US, in this month.

Planned to start production in late 2022, the new facility will be located close to the life sciences hub in the Cambridge/Boston area.

The new 150,000ft2 facility will be equipped to produce range of industry leading products, including peristaltic pumps, fluid path solutions, tubing, and BioPure components.

It will house a suite of eight ISO14644-1 Class 7 cleanrooms, offices and warehousing in addition to space for two further cleanrooms.

Watson-Marlow's new manufacturing plant will feature segregated cleanroom and non-cleanroom production capabilities.

The facility is expected to serve customers across the firm’s core sectors including pharmaceutical and biotechnology, medical diagnostics, and process industries.

The new facility is expected to create more than 150 jobs.

Watson-Marlow expects the new facility to support its future growth in the Americas.

A unit of Spirax-Sarco Engineering, Watson-Marlow is engaged in production of quality fluid management solutions for the life sciences and process industries.
