Wagner College in New York has broken ground on a new $3m athletic facility that is slated for completion in the spring of 2022.

This project is funded by the Wagner College Athletic Department and supported by a $600,000 Higher Education Capital matching grant from the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York.

Wagner College president Joel W. Martin said: “This new building will create first-class spaces worthy of our student-athletes as they strive for excellence in the classroom and during athletic competition.”

The college’s athletic director Walt Hameline said: “We are very excited to build this new facility that will benefit all of our student-athletes and help us win championships in the future. I’d like to thank the Wagner College administration and our tremendous alumni for helping us turn our plans into reality.”

The facility will feature a weight room, locker room, athletic training facility and equipment room and is expected to benefit all Wagner varsity athletic teams.
