
VINCI, through its subsidiary Mobility and its joint venture partner ETF, has secured railway equipment and works contract worth €120m from Société du Grand Paris for Grand Paris Express West sector of Line 15 South.
The contract includes covering track and overhead contact line equipment (walkways, cable trays, dry stand pipe and drainage pumps) and works for the Line 15 South – West sector along a 16.5km section within a tunnel.
The project will begin by the end of this month and is expected to take 64 months to complete. The design phase will begin now and the work phase could start by the middle of next year.
The 16km section is between the future Pont de Sèvres station and the future Les Ardoines station east of Vitry sur Seine and it will be connected to the Vitry sur Seine infrastructure maintenance site (SMI).
ETF will install the track, overhead contact line and equipment for the section under a contract awarded this January.
The Line 15 South will run from Pont de Sèvres to Noisy-Champs and the trains are expected to serve 16 stations over a distance of 33km in 37 minutes. The line will run through 22 municipalities with a combined population of more than million and it is set to open in 2025.

Earlier this month, Société du Grand Paris had awarded the first Line 18 construction contract worth €799m, to a joint venture led by VINCI Construction.
The package 1 of Line 18 of Grand Paris Express is considered to be the biggest urban mobility programme in Europe at present. The section will link Orly airport to Massy-Palaiseau; Line 18 will then be extended to Versailles.
The contract includes digging 11.8km of tunnels using two tunnel boring machines (TBMs) and building three stations (Antonypôle, Massy Opéra and Massy-Palaiseau), 13 ancillary engineering structures, 10 branches connecting with the tunnel, and 850m of cut and cover.
