French concessions, construction and energy company VINCI has received a contract to perform modernisation work on the future Noisy-Champs station and ancillary facilities.

The €82m contract was awarded by Société du Grand Paris through VINCI’s subsidiaries Chantiers Modernes Construction and CBI.

Scheduled to commence in June next year, the upgrades will be delivered on the future lines 15 South and 16 of the Grand Paris Express in France.

The project works will involve structure, masonry, technical and architectural trades, roads, utilities, and landscaping.

Around 200 people will be employed on site to carry out the activities for the duration of the project. The company noted that 5% of the hours worked will be carried out by people in back to work programmes.

Grand Paris Express is the new metro of the capital region. The automated transit network includes 68 new stations and 200km of additional tracks.

Noisy-Champs station on Réseau Express Régional (RER) train network links future Line 15 South and Line 16 with RER Line A.

In 2017, a joint venture made up of VINCI Construction and Spie Batignolles was awarded civil engineering contract worth €156m for the Grand Paris Express project.

It involved construction of Noisy-Champs railway station and forward station.

In addition, VINCI is working on many other works packages related to Grand Paris Express project.
