Scandinavian contractor Veidekke has received a contract from K2 Bolig to deliver the Madla Tress residential project in Norway.

Veidekke will be responsible for designing and building the Madla Tress project at Madla in Stavanger, Norway.

The contract is valued at $11.71m (NOK106m).

The project will comprise three apartment buildings, each with gross area ranging from 45 to 165m2. It will have a total of 39 apartments and retail premises.

The ground floor will feature retail premises, which will comprise a Coop Extra grocery store, a guest bedsit and function rooms. The basement will comprise private and public parking, and storage spaces.

Veidekke Bygg Business District Syd director Are Westbye said: “Veidekke has extensive and good experience with carrying out construction of housing projects of this scale. This is an great project in one of Stavanger’s most attractive districts. We would like thank to K2 Bolig for the contract and are looking forward to getting started on construction work.”

Veidekke plans to start construction on the project before 25 December 2021. The homes are planned to be completed and be ready for occupation in the final quarter of 2023.

K2 Boli general manager Sigve Hebnes said: “In our project we have emphasised developing homes of high architectural quality and good homes with a good living environment, that we call homes according to the K2 Bolig standard.

“Start of construction has been approved, and home buyers will be a part of a safe and predictable journey from purchase to occupation.”
