Veidekke has secured a contract from Wihlborgs Fastigheter to construct a mobility hub as part of the Vista office building in Malmö, Sweden.
This collaborative design and build contract carries a value of approximately SEK255m ($24.68m).
Vista is Wihlborg’s fourth office building in Malmö’s Hyllie district.
Construction of the new office building is planned to commence in autumn 2023.
Veidekke plans to complete the construction in late 2024.
This project is a five-storey newbuild consisting of Vista’s lower floors, which will feature around 430 parking spaces, 45 charging points and will also have provision for more points, solutions for car and bicycle sharing and bicycle parking, as well as changing and shower facilities.
Furthermore, the hub will offer direct access to stairwells and office premises.
The contract also requires Veidekke to provide project planning for the offices that will cover the remaining ten floors.
The building will be certified in line with the Miljöbyggnad Gold, WELL and NollCO2 environmental building standards.
This mobility hub will be able to cater to travellers crossing the bridge into Sweden from Denmark.
Veidekke Construction Sweden official Charlotta Nilsén said: “We are excited to have been entrusted with building this inspiring project together with Wihlborgs. Drawing on every expertise, we look forward to collaborating closely for the good of the project.”
The contract is included by the company in the present quarter.
