Norwegian construction company Planor Bolig has selected construction and civil engineer Veidekke to develop the Daaehagen residential project in the Ålesund neighbourhood of Moa, Norway.
The estimated value of this design and build contract is Nkr116m, excluding VAT.
The scope of this project includes 34 units spread over three apartment buildings, along with other amenities such as vehicle parking facilities, outdoor areas, and two kids’ playgrounds.
The three buildings are three, four, and five storeys tall, respectively, with units ranging from 57m² to 153m².
Each unit features a balcony and exclusive roof terraces.
Veidekke Bygg Møre Romsdal district manager Stig Mork said: “We are so grateful for the vote of confidence, and we look forward to establishing a close partnership with this new customer.
“The housing market is perceived by some to be facing challenges at present, which makes it particularly gratifying to see that sales are going well. It is great that a combination of quality and location still works.”
The property is located near several restaurants, golf courses, and shopping centres that include more than 200 retail stores.
Design works are currently underway, with groundworks recently initiated.
The contract will be registered in Veidekke’s order backlog for this year’s second quarter.
Bolig CEO Bernt Ove Vågsæter said: “We are delighted to sign this contract with Veidekke as we embark on a major new construction project in the Ålesund neighbourhood of Moa.
“This is a project that we have worked hard to bring to fruition and that we can all be proud of. The development will not only be attractive to those who buy homes in it to move into but also to neighbours in the local area.
“There will be neighbourhood playgrounds for children, as well as new paths.”
The residential units are expected to be completed and ready for occupancy in the second quarter of 2025.
