University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) has opened its new campus, which features a modern architectural design combining traditional and innovative learning spaces.

Located at Dubai Knowledge Park, the 200,000ft² ‘Campus of the Future’ aims to cater to the anticipated surge in international students and is fitted out with the latest technologies to facilitate the university’s teaching programme.

The campuses’ central atrium is inspired by Australia’s veranda settings and extends through corridors into pockets of informal learning spaces.

Its buildings feature large, open windows that allow the entry of natural light. The design incorporates natural and organic materials.

The new campus has dedicated rooms for learning and meeting, small classrooms, large classrooms and an exhibition space.

It also features a recruitment lounge, a student lounge, ultramodern auditorium, a café and laboratories.
