Knowsley Council has launched search for a development management partner for its planned redevelopment of Huyton Village Centre in the UK.

The proposed ten-year development plan includes new homes, offices, a hotel as well as a network of public spaces and public realm.

The new mixed-use commercial development will be constructed on the council’s current seven-acre site in Huyton. It will also include a new headquarter for the council.

This proposed plan includes further improvements to the town’s high street and demolition of the multi-storey car park on Derby Road to create a new leisure mixed-use development.

The development management partner will help to progress the detailed proposal for the new mixed-use development and civic campus.

Knowsley Council Regeneration and Economic Development cabinet member Tony Brennan said: “The continued regeneration of Huyton Village Centre is a key element of the borough’s post-COVID recovery.
“The investments that have already been made in Huyton including the Shopfront Improvement Scheme has already helped attract investment and new jobs.

“The wider plans for Huyton Village Centre will have a real transformational effect and be of benefit to the whole borough. It’s an exciting time for Huyton and I look forward to seeing our development plans progress.”

The council has also submitted a £20m funding bid to the government’s £4.8bn Levelling Up fund to further support its plans for Huyton Village Centre.

The Levelling Up Fund is established to support the regeneration of the town centre and high street, local transport projects, and cultural and heritage assets.
