UGL, a subsidiary of CIMIC Group, has secured contracts worth over A$112m ($83m) from Australian power transmission system operators TransGrid, Powerlink and United Energy.

Under a contract from TransGrid, UGL will be responsible for the design and construction of a 330kV switchyard at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains, New South Wales. The scope of the work will include the construction of 10km of 330kV transmission lines to connect the switchyard and the Snowy 2.0 pumped-hydro project cable yard.

UGL will install a 52MW/78MWh Tesla battery for TransGrid at the Wallgrove Substation in Sydney’s west. It will also design and build a 132kV/33kV substation to support the connection of a Gunnedah solar project to TransGrid’s energy network.

Powerlink has appointed UGL to design and build substations at Lilyvale and South Gladstone, Queensland.

As part of the contract with United Energy, UGL will be responsible for the installation and replacement of feeder schemes at substations and the installation of safety mechanisms.
